Style Report: Coral

Summer is in full bloom!

Bring out your short shorts, shades and crop tops because our long awaited summer has touched down amongst us.

One of my absolute favorite colors for summer is without a doubt coral. Its fresh and vibrant essence exudes a natural yet contemporary look and makes for a laid back summer style.

In this post, I am going to be showing you how to rock this color in more ways than one by introducing it into your style and make-up!

Keep reading for some coral fun!

I was inspired by this picture (taken of a vitrine outside of Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussman) to bring you a mix between coral and lace fashion and beauty inspiration!

Let's go swimming in the Reef..
For your coral-inspired outfit, keep the essentials and keep it classy by pairing your lace print coral dress with a darker toned wedge and a lighter hue lace purse. Now you're good to go!

Want to know how to rock this style for your make-up? Check out how to below!

For a charming coral make-up look, keep the darker hues on your lips while you add the pop of color to your eyes and cheeks. Keep the coral make-up piece in 2 areas on your face at a time (eyes+lipstick for example) for an all-round clean look. Keep in mind to make your make-up complement each other by pairing your coral lip with a very dim eye or cheek.

Let me know what you think of this under-the-sea inspired color and how you plan on making your summer ensemble 'coral themed'!

It goes without saying that tie-dye is one of those trends that will never die out (die out..get it?)
Tie-dye is spunky, fun and perfect for summer so why not bring this trend to life by adding a little attitude to your plain short shorts.

What You Will Need:
1) Denim Shorts
2) Elastic Bands
3) Rubber Gloves
4) Plastic Bucket
5) Dye (color of choice)

How-To:
1) Dip your shorts in some water beforehand and wring it.

3) Put the shorts back into the water but this time pour hot water into the bucket and pour the dye.
4) Tip: Put your gloves on! Carefully push your denim shorts so that it is immersed in all of the dye.
5) Add about 250 g of table salt for better results
6) Leave the shorts in the bucket for 30 minutes while turning the shorts over every now and then.

Beauty De-coded: Cream Blush

Cream blush is the leg up to our common cheek powder or eyeshadow by combining both of those face products into one.

Cream blush is great for an everyday, on the go glam look. It is a better option than powder blush because the color composition of cream blush naturally adapts and blends in with your skin complexion and looking for the right tone of cream blush is way simpler than looking for a powder blush. It is lightweight which gives off a more 'natural' look as opposed to the well avoided 'caked on' appearance which is always a good thing! Hollywood stars from Kim Kardashian to Beyoncé swear by it because it finishes off their entire glam look as it gives off beautiful, radiant glow to their faces.

If you have always wanted to cross over into cream blush but have trouble picking out the right kind and what is just right for you then keep on reading for a personal guide on picking out the right cream blush.

Cream Blush for Fair Skin

If you have a fair skin complexion a-la Emma Stone or Anne Hathaway, it is understandable that finding a cream blush that doesn't make you look like a clown is a rather difficult task. When you have fair skin, you want to look for a cream blush that has apricot or peach tones as this naturally brings out your beige undertones for a soft, clean and fresh-faced look.

Cream Blush for Beige Skin

If you have a slightly more tanned complexion that is still a bit fair like Kim Kardashian or Jessica Alba, an amber cream blush is the way to go as it highlights your golden pink undertones for an all round radiant look.

Cream Blush for Tan Skin

For those of you who have already been blessed with a perfectly sun-kissed glow like Alicia Keys or Mya, you want to make sure that you keep it light on the cream blush. A rose colored or rose tinted cream blush never fails as it brings attention towards the center of your cheeks and highlights that beautiful smile of yours to seem more inviting.

Cream Blush for Dark Skin

Because dark skin complexions come in a vast array of shades, one cream blush color that will never fail your dark skin is almond and tangerine. These colors highlight your red undertones and give off a carefully polished radiant sweep to your cheeks! Make sure you look for a color like reflects the natural tone of your skin for a positive glow!
